Women’s Workshop on ‘Who will Speak for You?’
Come join us for this Women’s Wellness Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 1-2:30 p.m. at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. This workshop will be about your finances, health care, other matters and who the decision maker will be to carry out your wishes.
Heartland Senior Center Trivia Night is Oct. 25
Heartland Senior Services’ next Community Trivia Night will be Friday, Oct. 25 at Oakwood Road Church, 2400 Oakwood Road in Ames. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. with trivia starting at 6:30 p.m.
Teams of five to eight people compete to answer questions about topics such as sports, movies, history, geography, and current events. Each team is invited to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy throughout the night. Everyone encouraged to play. Cost is $10 per person to play with cash prizes for the top three teams. Door prizes from local businesses will also be awarded at the conclusion of the game.
The proceeds from the evening help Heartland Senior Services continue to provide needed county-wide programs for seniors administered through adult day care, activities, nutrition (congregate and home-delivered meals), and outreach.

Flu Clinic is Monday, Oct. 21
Homeward Healthcare will offer a complimentary flu vaccination clinic from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday, Oct. 21 at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut, in Ames. For those without a Medicare Part B card, the cost is $30. Cash and Check will be accepted (must present your Medicare card at the time of service). No appointment is necessary. Mexican Train Dominoes
Come join us on Monday, Oct. 21 from 1-2 p.m. at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave, Ames, and play Mexican Train Dominoes. No previous experience needed.
