Heartland Senior Services Briefs

Monthly Dance March 11

The Heartland Senior Services monthly dance will be held Tuesday, March 11, from 7-10 p.m. at the Moose Family Center, North U.S. Highway 69 and West 190th Street in Ames. Kenny Frette and the Country Classic Band will perform. Admission is $5 each. All are welcome. Sponsorship for the dance is provided by Bethany Life. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

AARP Tax-Aide Services

Heartland Senior Services at 205 S. Walnut Ave., Ames, is serving as a location for seniors to receive complimentary income tax preparation service through the volunteer AARP Tax-Aide program. Appointments are available at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, until April 11. Participants are asked to bring in two forms of ID, including a photo ID, last year’s tax form, tax documents, medical costs, charitable donations and current real estate property tax information. Eating for a healthy heart

On Tuesday, March 18, from 12:30-1:15 p.m. at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave., Ames, Amy Clark, Hy-Vee dietician will present “Eating for a Healthy Heart and Whole Grains.” Taste sampling will be offered. This presentation, in conjunction with National Nutrition Month, is free and open to any age, but geared to seniors 60 years of age and older. Call 515-233-2906 for additional information.
