Disaster Preparedness and Relief

Join us for lunch, and learn about disaster preparedness and relief strategies in Story County on May 14, at Huxley Shelter House at 11:30 a.m. The program will be presented by skilled volunteers from R.S.V.P.

Pharmacy Q & A at Heartland

Teresa Kelley, pharmacist from Hy-Vee Drugstore will be at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave., Ames, on Wednesday, May 14, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. She will answer your pharmacy and health-related questions. Come join us and have cookies, coffee and lemonade.

Heartland Monthly Dance

The Heartland Senior Services Spring Dance will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at the Moose Family Center, North U.S. Highway 69 and West 190th St. in Ames. Kenny Frette and the Country Classic Band will perform. Admission is $5 each and all are welcome. Sponsorship for the dance is provided by Bethany Life. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Country Jam on Friday

Heartland Senior Services will host Country Jam from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. All are invited to come and enjoy good music and visit with friends. Admission is $2. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Build-A-Teddy Bear

Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. Ames will have a Build-A-Teddy Bear Workshop on Tuesdays, May 13, 20 and June 3 from 1-3 p.m. Jeanine Strodtman will instruct how to assemble a Bear with sewing done by hand! All materials (brown fur, joints, eyes, nose, pattern and stuffing) will be provided. Cost is $10.
