BUNCO

Join us on Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 1-2:30 p.m. and play BUNCO. Bunco is a dice game played with four people per table. Enjoy the fun – anyone can play. No previous experience is needed. Prizes will be given for the most games, most buncos and least games. Cost per person is $3. If you are interested in playing, please contact Heartland Senior Services at 515-233-2906.

Coffee and Conversation

Come in Monday-Friday from 8-11:30 a.m. or 1-4 p.m. for coffee and conversation. Socialize with friends, enjoy a coup ‘o java and mingle about. Plan to make a reservation for lunch served from 11:30-12:15 p.m. Sponsored by Grandon Funeral and Cremation. Call 515-233-2906 for more information.

Community Trivia Night

Heartland Senior Services’ next Community Trivia Night will be Friday, Jan. 31 at Oakwood Road Church, 2400 Oakwood Road in Ames. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. with trivia starting at 6:30 p.m. Teams of five to eight people compete to answer questions about topics such as sports, movies, history, geography and current events. Each team is invited to bring its own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy throughout the night. Cost is $10 per person to play with cash prizes for the top three teams. Dinner & Jazz With Friends

Join us at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave, Ames, on Friday, Feb. 7 for Dinner & Jazz with Friends. The menu will include: beef or vegetarian lasagna, tossed romaine salad, Italian green beans, bread, dessert, coffee and tea. Dinner will be served from 5-6:15 p.m. Cost for dinner is $6 per person. Mystery Book Discussion

Join Heartland Senior Services of Story County, 205 S. Walnut Ave, Ames and the Ames Public Library for a mystery book discussion on “Still Life,” by Louise Penny on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. Ames. There is no charge.

Chief Inspector Armand Gamache and his team of investigators are called to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal. The locals are certain it’s a tragic hunting accident and nothing more, but Gamache thinks otherwise. Contact Phyllis at Heartland 515-233-2906 to check out a book.

Leisure Craft/Art Day

Enjoy knitting, crochet, cross-stich, art project, etc. Come, work on your project and socialize with other enthusiasts on Monday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. No charge.
