Come to McFarland Park on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m.–noon, to participate in a flintknapping workshop. Native American crafts expert Terry Carter and Story County Conservation Naturalist Jess Lancial will demonstrate the art of fashioning arrowheads, known as flintknapping. Participants will learn primitive knapping techniques and create an “artifact” of their own. Instructions, flint/churt, knapping tools and leather will be provided.
This program will be held at the conservation center and is recommended for participants 12 years and older. Fee is $25/person. Preregistration with payment is required by 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12. Call 232-2516 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Space is limited, so register early!
