Seniors on Sixth

Here it is April 21 already—where has this month gone? I hope you all enjoyed the warm weather on Easter Sunday.

Our group was a little smaller this month on potluck day but we had 20 come out for the movie on Thursday. We all enjoyed a good laugh while watching the four men, our age try to keep up with the much younger crowd in the movie “Last Vegas”. We will probably show one more movie on May 15th if there is enough interest.

On Friday this week we will have our last card tournament for the season. During the summer people find lots of other things to do on a Friday afternoon so we will likely pick it up again in October.

One activity which continues right through the summer is the congregate meals which are served at the Center Tues. through Friday at noon. We would welcome more of you to share in that meal now that better weather makes it easier for you to get to the Center. You can call over to Heartland, 233-2906 to make a reservation to eat the following day or before 8:30 on the day you wish to eat. You may pick up a menu at the Center or clip it out of the Journal most weeks.

The same person who brings the food for congregate meals also brings the meals for our “home delivered” program. Our count has been down recently for home deliveries so if you know of someone who is housebound, and would benefit by having us deliver their meal, please have them call Heartland so an outreach person can contact them and make the arrangements.
