Our potluck day happens to fall on Veterans Day this year so I will be asking the veterans, who are in attendance, to share with us the dates of their service, where they served and a little about their tour. I know that there is a Veterans Day service at the school auditorium and a noon meal at the Legion so I understand that there are several events available to veterans. A couple of grandsons of our potluck regulars have recently returned from trips, so if they join us that day we will hope to hear from them as well.
I also want to let you know that there is a free Elder Law Seminar on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 12:30 to be held at th communications building at ISU. Several people have expressed interest in going to this so we will car pool from the Center at 11:45. (I have registered our attendance so you don’t need to.) This seminar will provide information about paying medical and nursing home bills, including information about the new Affordable Care Act. The seminar will also discuss elder financial abuse issues.
Don’t you think it is about time for another “Ladies Day Out”? Mark your calendars for Dec. 2nd at 11:00 and I will tell you more about it next week.
