A UP Father’s Day

Father’s Day was a big day for employees of the Union Pacific Railroad, who held an appreciation event for family members of employees in Nevada at the SCORE park. About 1,000 people from all over Central Iowa came into Nevada to enjoy the day of food, children’s games (including inflatables) and train rides. Three passenger cars from UP’s Heritage Fleet were brought in to give rides between Nevada and Cambridge. Many UP employees and family members waited in line for the train, which arrived in Nevada about every 45 minutes to pick up new passengers. Also on hand were members of the Nevada Fire and Police departments to oversee the fire department giving people a chance to be carried high in the air in its ladder truck. Below, Keegan Reyman, 3, watches the ladder truck lift up a group of people. The event is held in Central Iowa every other year as a way of thanking local employees for their service to the company.
