Todd Willert, former CEO of Story County Medical Center in Nevada, has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Monroe County Hospital & Clinics in Albia. Willert will begin his duties on Sept. 3.
Willert was CEO of Story Medical in Nevada for 19 years, working at Nevada through the Mercy Health Network-Catholic Initiatives. He has more than 30 years of total health care experience. Willert’s career with Story Medical ended when the Story Medical Center Board of Trustees voted in January not to renew the hospital’s longtime management contract with Mercy Health Network.
Chairman of the Monroe County Hospital & Clinics, Marilee Scieszinski, said, “Todd’s extensive health care experience, leadership and community involvement skills, combined with an established relationship with the Mercy Network, will be a wonderful addition for Monroe County. Monroe County Hospital & Clinics will be provided a seamless transition with Todd’s enthusiasm for maintaining the high standards established relative to care of our patients, as well as employee and workplace satisfaction.”
Willert and his wife, Nancy, a registered nurse and a longtime employee of Story Medical, will be relocating to Albia.
