Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa (HFHCI) held its annual Fall Volunteer Picnic at Brookside Park. Each year the local affiliate shows its appreciation for the many dedicated volunteers by hosting a picnic and giving special recognition to longtime volunteers. Lawrence Merritt, chairman of the Faith Relations Committee, and Sandi Risdal, HFHCI executive director, thanked all the volunteers present and especially the honored volunteers, who were presented with a certificate and the book, “One Family at a Time.”
