Help your young child Start Smart

Due to high enrollment numbers, Ames Parks and Rec has opened an additional Start Smart All-Sport class for this summer. The class will be held Tuesdays, 5-6 p.m., starting June 3 and running through July 8 at the Community Center, 515 Clark Ave.

This is a great opportunity for parents to work one-on-one with their child and spend quality time together. This program teaches 3-5-year-old children motor skill tasks that gradually build confidence, while having fun at the same time. Parks and Rec staff will teach parents and children a variety of all sport skills, including kicking, hitting, throwing and catching. The parents will then work with their child to develop these skills.
