The Midtown Market is underway on Tuesdays, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Nevada City Hall parking lot through Oct. 7. There are currently four produce vendors with tomatoes, cucumbers, turnips and other fresh produce; a baked goods vendor with homemade breads and cookies; a craft vendor with beautiful handmade scarves and necklaces and a BBQ vendor with delicious sandwiches and meals.
Tamara Ross’ State Farm office also has a space at the market weekly, providing insurance information and fun activities for children.
Story County Medical Center will be at the market the first Tuesday of each month with the ambulance and will offer blood pressure checks and CPR demonstrations. The Nevada Police Department and Fire Department will be at the market alternating weeks with equipment for everyone to explore.
If your service club or organization would like to hold a fundraiser or share an activity for children and families, contact the Chamber office at 515-382-6538 for information. The Chamber is also looking for people who would like to perform at the Midtown Market – singers, dancers, musicians – between 5 and 7 p.m.
The Nevada Community Band will perform at the Midtown Market at 7 p.m. until July 22. Everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chair to City Hall and enjoy the wonderful music after visiting the market.
