Author Edward Abbey once said, “You can’t study the darkness by flooding it with light.” Come explore the darkness with Story County Conservation via canoe at Hickory Grove Lake on Saturday, July 12!
The moon will be full and shed light on the lake as we paddle around looking and listening for wildlife. The evening will begin with a brief paddling instruction, plenty of time to explore the lake, and conclude with a campfire and s’mores. All ages are welcome. There must be at least one adult (18 years or older) in each canoe.
The fee for this program is $20 per canoe and is due by 4 p.m. on Monday, July 7. Registration includes canoe and gear rental, instruction, and s’mores. For more information or to register, call 515-232-2516 or email email@example.com.
