The Nevada Public Library received a grant award of $3,000 from the Story County Community Foundation (SCCF) in November.

Williams said the grant will be used to purchase Young Adult furniture for the library’s remodel.

“We are very pleased to have Story County Community Foundation support as we finish our building project. The Young Adult furniture is bright, comfortable and inviting,” Williams said.

SCCF received a total of 52 applications for 2013 community grants. The Nevada Public Library was one of 17 applicants selected for the awards. Funding for the community grants is provided primarily by the State of Iowa’s County Endowment Fund, and SCCF is the designated administrator for the fund.

The 2014 SCCF community grants cycle will begin in January, when updated information for applicants will be available at storycountyfoundation.org. Applications will be due in late September.
