The “Risers Please” fundraising project, an effort of the Nevada Music Parents to obtain new performance risers for the auditorium, has been completed.
Music Parents report a large outpouring of support for the project, with 48 individuals and families, 38 Nevada businesses and five Ames businesses sponsoring notes as part of this fundraiser. Nevada Music Parents used part of their concession profits from the high school and youth fall football games to complete this $11,139 project.
A big thank-you goes out to everyone who helped make the new performance risers a reality for the students at Nevada Community Schools and for the community groups who will also use the auditorium for performances.
Members of the community are encouraged to consider attending the first- and second-grade concert on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m. or the high school chorus and band Winter Concert on Dec. 16, at 7 p.m., both being held at the auditorium, to see the new performance risers in use.
