More than 200 people took the opportunity for a “sneak peek” at the Nevada Public Library’s construction progress last week. Library staff said they received many positive comments on the new addition. The library is still taking donations to help pay for furnishings in the library. A big “thank you” goes out to Central Elementary students, who have raised money for chairs through a “Cha-Ching” fundraiser they have been doing.
The library was closed this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as new shelves were being put in and books were being moved. Library staff will be busy in the coming two months as they move all the books out of the old part of the building and into the new part, so construction crews can build the rest of the curved wall, lay new carpet, paint and put up ceiling tiles and lights, as well as transform the old magazine room into the new young adult area.
It is hoped that the project will be completed sometime in January.
