Tyler Eason has announced that he will be running for the office of Story County attorney. The former assistant Story County attorney looks forward to introducing himself to the people of Story County and discussing the issues that currently face the office of county attorney. Eason has already begun speaking with members of the law enforcement community, the business community, elected officials and voters across the county.
Eason, a Republican from Ames, says that he is “excited to take this step to serve the people of Story County. The office of county attorney is not about political points or partisan politics. It is about seeking justice for the citizens of Story County. It is about ensuring that the judicial process is fair and equal to all those involved.”
Said Eason, “I am ready to, first and foremost, listen to the voters issues and ideas about the position of county attorney. I am also ready to talk to voters about bringing consistency, transparency and fiscal responsibility to the county attorney’s office. I am very excited to serve the public as their next county attorney.”
Eason is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he earned both his B.A. and M.A. degrees, and of Drake University, where he received his J.D. degree. He has worked as an assistant county attorney in both Story County and Mahaska County, and was a partner at Kemp Eason Sease & Dyer. He currently works at WebFilings as contract counsel.
In Ames, Eason’s community involvement includes serving as a trustee on the Ames Public Board of Trustees.
He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children: Bennett, 4, and Lucy, 1.
