The employees of Van Wall Equipment (formerly Ryerson Implement) will soon be leaving the site the store has occupied for nearly 60 years. The staff will move to a new 68,000 square foot facility just off Highway 30 on Airport Road in Nevada’s West Business Park. Operations Manager Rick Hawbaker pointed out that the city and the dealership worked together to keep the business in Nevada, but in a location better suited to their customers’ needs, as well as attracting new customers.
With farm equipment growing larger, the dealership’s current location in downtown Nevada could no longer accommodate John Deere customers. The new location will give Van Wall more opportunity to display large agricultural equipment like combines and tractors, as well as more chances to showcase smaller inventory like chainsaws, lawnmowers and utility vehicles.
With the expanded facilities, Hawbaker also plans to hire more technicians, with the aim of further improving service, pointing out that many customers have worked for the company in some capacity before they became full-time farmers. The staff looks forward to serving even more customers from Nevada and surrounding towns.
“This is their store,” said Hawbaker of his customers. “A lot of people who buy equipment from us have more ties to this dealership than I do.”
Van Wall Equipment plans to move to their new location early this summer.
