Of the nine candidates running for election in the City of Zearing, only three responded to our questions, which were mailed out to every candidate. Neither of the two mayoral candidates responded. The three candidates below are running for the three vacant seats on the city council.

Family Members: Three grown children - Jessica (New Bloomfield, Mo.), Russ (Eldon, Mo.) and Royce (Zearing)
What things - clubs, activities, special events - have you been involved with in the community?: I have been involved in the Zearing Veterans Memorial Ballpark and a volunteer member of the Zearing Fire Department
What are the top two goals you would have as a council member? Continue to see the Main Street Development Project and Dakins Lake Development Project through and to help bring new homes and businesses into the community to help increase our communities growth

Family members: Wife, Kathy; two daughters, Kari and Cindy; four grandchildren, Tyler, Coulby, Trevor and Tia
What things - clubs, activities, special events - have you been involved with in the community? Church board and school board
What are the top two goals you would have as a council member? 1) Take advantage of opportunities to move Zearing forward; 2) Try and maintain, as much as possible, the small town, rural atmosphere living

What things - clubs, activities, special events - have you been involved with in your community? Two years on the Park board, volunteering to help with Zearing Days celebration
What are the top two goals you would have as a council member? First would be to continue the present council’s work on fixing up old buildings on Main Street, as well as bringing new businesses to town. Second would be to continue to help get some of our problem areas in town cleaned up by working with residents and volunteers to make our town a cleaner and more beautiful town.
