Marilyn Margaret “Marty” (Pugh) Stoeffler, 53, of Nevada died on Friday, November 15, 2013, at her home. The family received friends on Wednesday, November 20, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, where a Memorial Service was also held that evening. The cremains will be placed at a later date in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery Columbarium.
Marty was born on March 26, 1960 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan, to Bruce R. and Kathryn L. (Mott) Pugh. She was a 1978 graduate of Taipei American School in Taipei, Taiwan. Marty also attended Iowa State University. On July 3, 1982, she was united in marriage to Jan A. Stoeffler in Ames. Marty enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, collecting dragonflies, and quilting.
Marty is survived by her husband, Jan A. Stoeffler, a daughter Dru Elizabeth Stoeffler (Aric) Hoogerwerf, all of Nevada; a son Michael Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren Skylar and Sidney Hoogerwerf; her parents Bruce R. and Kathryn L. Pugh of Williamsburg, VA; a sister Carol (Red) Meier also of Williamsburg, VA; two brothers David (Rachinee) Pugh of Germantown, MD and Bruce (Mandy) Pugh of Chesapeake, VA.
Marty was preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen Mott in 2008 and Lawrence Mott in 1976.
A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Marty.
Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Marty and her family.
