Cub boys lose to Pella, B-F

PELLA – The Nevada boys’ soccer team suffered its second loss of the week with a 5-0 setback at Pella Christian May 22.

The Cubs only got off four shots and they allowed 13, falling to 6-10 on the season. Patrick Stephenson tallied two of Nevada’s shots, and Johordan Ritter and Brandon Burke delivered one apiece.

Peyton Alderson made five stops at keeper for Nevada in a losing effort.

Antony Bentzinger and Seth Johnson scored two goals apiece to lead Pella. Saghit Rethmeier added one goal for the Little Dutch.

BONDURANT – Nevada came up just short against Bondurant-Farrar May 19, losing a hard-fought 2-1 battle in Bondurant.

Nevada gave a gutsy effort on defense as the Cubs were outshot 17-8. Nevada keeper Peyton Alderson made eight saves in a losing effort.

James Rea scored Nevada’s lone goal off an assist from T.J. Fey. Rea, Patrick Stephenson and Brandon Burke tallied two shots apiece and Fey and Johordan Ritter each had one for Nevada.

John Adkins and Carter Wiederin each scored once for Bondurant-Farrar.
