Nevada JV boys win two games

The Nevada JV boys’ basketball team recently won two games verses Roland-Story and Gilbert. On Jan. 4, they beat Roland-Story by a score of 56-42. Nevada held a 3-point half time lead, and then outscored the Norse 16-3 in the third quarter to key the victory. Erik Fevold led the way with 13 points. Sharp-shooters Duncan Westphal and Joe Heintz both had a good night with 12 points each, including seven 3-pointers between them.

On Jan. 7, Nevada defeated Gilbert, 52-44. The Cubs were down six points at halftime, but outscored the Tigers 34-16 in the second half to secure the victory. Westphal led the Cubs with 19 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Fevold added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Chris Dobernecker had nine points and 10 rebounds. The two victories give the Cubs a record of 5-1 on the season.
