Royal boys finish second at Waterloo quadrangular

WATERLOO – The Colo-Nesco boys’ golf team came in second in a quadrangular meet and the Colo-Nesco/Collins-Maxwell-Baxter girls’ came up short against Don Bosco April 29 at the Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo.

The Colo-Nesco boys shot a 204 over nine holes to edge Don Bosco by one stroke for second. Waterloo Christian won the boys’ meet with a 198 and CMB took fourth with a score of 237.

Cole Ozbun had the best individual score for Colo-Nesco with a 45. Waterloo Christian’s Matt Miller and Heath Darst both carded a 44 as the only golfers to top Ozbun individually.

Tanner Clatt and Tyler Anthony also had solid rounds for the Royals. Clatt shot a 49 and Anthony finished right at 50.

Isaiah Texeira was the final scored Royal golfer with a 60.

In the girls’ competition, Colo-Nesco/CMB finished with a score of 293 over nine holes. Don Bosco took the head-to-head competition after shooting a 270.

McKenna Farren was medalist runner-up for the Colo-Nesco/CMB girls with a 64. Don Bosco’s Bailey Speare was the medalist after shooting a 62.

Alex Hlavacek carded a 71, Courtney Clapper shot a 74 and Zoee Risdal carded an 84 to round out the scoring Colo-Nesco/CMB.
