EAGLE GROVE – The Colo-Nesco cross country teams were unable to push any runners through to state at the Class 1A state qualifying meet in Eagle Grove Oct. 24.
The Royal boys competed without top runner Jordan Combes. Steven Cutler stepped up into the top spot and finished 18th with a 5-kilometer time of 17 minutes, 50 seconds.
Elliot Morgan came in 103rd at 21:29, Kyle Miller took 115th in 21:57, Caleb Vaughn was 126th with a 23:20 showing and Ashton Graddick clocked in at 25:02 to place 134th as the other scored Royal runners. The Colo-Nesco boys took 18th as a team with 495 points.
The Colo-Nesco girls were ineligible for team scoring with only four runners.
Grace Stalzer and Stephanie Norris both finished in under 20 minutes for the Royal girls. Stalzer completed the girls’ 4-kilometer course in 19:33 to place 70th and Norris came in 74th with a time of 19:38. Angela Brinkman took 96th with a 20:49 showing and Leah Vincent finished in 21:05 to place 102nd.
