Colo-Nesco senior outfielder Madison Farren was named all-state honorable mention in Class 1A by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association in 2014.
Farren hit .405 with a .608 slugging average, eight doubles, one triple, two home runs, 29 RBI and 18 runs in 2014. Those numbers marked a big improvement from her 2013 totals of a .241 batting average with one double, nine runs and 11 RBI.
Farren also made 24 putouts and just one error in the field. Her efforts helped Colo-Nesco go from 7-16 a year ago to 9-15 this summer.

Akron-Westfield coach Todd Colt was named the 1A Coach of the Year by the IGCA after helping the Westerners repeat as state champions.
