Royals crush Indians in volleyball, improve to 2-0 in ISC

COLO – The Colo-Nesco volleyball team scored its second Iowa Star Conference victory by dominating Clarksville in three sets Sept. 17 in Colo.

The Royals swept the Indians without breaking a sweat. They won the first set by an overwhelming 25-4 margin, took the second by a 25-14 score and then handed out a 25-6 drubbing to improve to 2-0 in the ISC and 6-8 overall.

Colo-Nesco turned in an impressive .417 kill-efficiency rate with 19 kills and only four errors in 36 attacks. The Royals also delivered 12 aces on a 63 of 67 serving effort and they had five blocks defensively at the net.

Caitlyn Riese had seven kills, two blocks and three aces and digs apiece for Colo-Nesco in the victory. Madison Farren added four kills and two blocks; Hannah Buseman finished with three kills, seven digs and two aces and Tabitha Halferty recorded two kills and one block.

Brandi Erickson led Colo-Nesco in digs with 10. Kylie Sarver finished with four digs and she also delivered a pair of aces.

Brittnee Packer dished out 11 assists and went 21 of 22 serving with three aces. McKenna Farren contributed seven assists and she was 16 of 16 serving with two aces.
